The Community Rowing Building was not even complete when it won an AIA award for architects Anmahian-Winton of Cambridge, MA. The building is covered with true wood-faced Prodema panels in a variety of configurations Including the large textured façade area composed of patterned louvers.
Low on the building are 16 ft. high windows consisting of intersecting 8 ft. high top-hinged portions and 8 ft. high bottom-hinged portions.
They are operated by geared mechanisms,
by EXTECH.
We designed 12 new aluminum extrusions which, used in combinations, support the Prodema panels in their various orientations. We fabricated these wood-faced panels to exact size and configuration using a CNC router.
EXTECH also made the padded aluminum clips which point fasten the glass panels to the adjoining Sculling Building to form a shingled
glass wall.
We are proud to say that this is a building on which EXTECH has left its mark. |
