A custom backlighted wall was requested by EventQuest for a display for Samsung in the Time-Warner Building, New York City. 12" and 16" thick walls were composed of EXTECH®'s tongue and groove cellular polycarbonate panels fitted into our custom anodized aluminum framework. Since the display was not permanent, neither the floor nor the ceiling could be penetrated with fasteners. EXTECH designed a system including screw jacks which applied high-friction pads against the ceiling, thus securing the panels. The panels were painted a special translucent blue at the EXTECH factory. The 90 linear feet of double walls included sections which house monitor screens. The system was designed so that it could be erected in a matter of only a few hours. |
