Under its bus shelter canopies, SEPTA (South Eastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) wanted windscreens which would pass light, be maintenance-free, and would be vandal-resistant. They chose the EXTECH® Series #2100 MatrixWall® System fitted with Pittsburgh Corning's 8"x8" VistaBrik solid glass blocks. The MatrixWall System is extremely strong, owing to its aluminum grid core and the array of thin steel rods which lie within the aluminum grid. For this job, the aluminum grid was prefabricated at EXTECH. The grid and the glass blocks were installed by SEPTA personnel. |

There is no mortar used in this system. The joints between the VistaBriks were filled with silicone sealant and EXTECH's elastomeric joints covers gave the joints a clean, finished appearance.
