Side View of the SAIC Building - Series #3100 System. EXTECH provided both the canopy & the wall system.

In this application, Series #3100 was adapted by way of a custom extrusion to allow the canopy roof to be built with the smooth side of the panels turned downward and with the structure of the canopy totally above that surface.

The walls were also done with Series #3100 panels, again snapped into a custom aluminum extrusion. EXTECH® designed the extrusion specifically to allow a 3/8” gap between panels. Thus, the system works on a 2’ module.

The special vertical mullions are hidden behind the siding panels, allowing a smooth facade. Those mullions are designed to leave a 3/8" gap between the panels and this space was used to pass through the brackets which hold up the canopy.

The canopy panels are hung from above, leaving a smooth underside.
