Series 3100 - BDL - Standing Seam Polycarbonate System
 

Features

This unique system offers daylighting, high insulation value, UV screening, and resistance to abuse, all in one high performance, low-cost package. The same technology that makes standing seam roofing watertight is present in the BDL system, with the added advantage of light transmission and insulation.

Panels are nominally 2ft. wide and are available in lengths to 39ft. Continuous polycarbonate battens snap over the panel edges to form the seams.

Natural lighting is diffused by the cell structure of the BDL panels, thus eliminating harsh lighting effects.

All aluminum framing is fitted with low-friction gasketing and deep glazing pockets which capture and hold the polycarbonate sheets, yet allow thermal movement of the panels.

Perimeter framing is engineered in interlocking components to allow access to individual panels as desired.

Standing seam system eliminate the need for vertical aluminum mullions, thus creating a monolithic appearance and lowering costs compared to conventional daylighting systems.

The #3100 type-1 clip, which anchors the sheets to the purlins, allows the thermal movement of the PCSS sheets to take place within the clip, thus minimizing noise and wear.

The #3100 type-2 clip system (also patented) allows for movement in all directions and compensates for misalignment of the building substrate.

Perimeter aluminum framing is available in anodized or high performance painting finishes and is available thermally broken.

Insulation values are in the same range as 1" insulated glass. Superior values are obtained with double glazed polycarbonate systems.
